Pure Winter Wilderness Adventures...

These lodges are our absolute favourites in Lapland; a collection of small, family-owned properties, in a remote, pristine location, where the details matter. Choose from a room in the hotel with easy access to the restaurant and cosy lounges, a lake-side chalet, or a log cabin or suite in the forest - some with their own sauna. You can even spend a night in an Aurora Bubble directly under the north sky; given its’ remote location, far removed from any light pollution, you are ideally placed to spot the aurora borealis.

Whichever option you choose, the modern Scandi alpine decor is cosy & stylish. The mezzanine children’s rooms are brilliantly designed and we love the spacious, fireside living rooms; ideal for family gatherings or groups of friends.

For families, whatever your child's age, there are activities to suit... learn to fish on the ice, cross-country ski or snowshoe through pristine forests, make cinnamon buns with the Pastry Chef, meet Father Christmas, Aurora hunt by snowmobile, visit an actual reindeer farm and learn from the herders the importance of reindeer in Lapland, or spend an afternoon sledging!

How do the logistics work? Given the remote location, it’s surprisingly straight-forward; a 3-hour direct flight from London to Northern Finland and, depending on which lodge you choose, a 30-60 minute transfer. Your destination is 300 km inside the Arctic Circle, just a short distance from the Russian border.

Contact us for availability, a detailed itinerary & prices. We’d love to send you there!

In the meantime, stay safe, stay well & stay home.

Shout out to our partners...

Today is International Small Business Day so, as well as giving ourselves a pat on the back for being small, perfectly formed and in business, we also want to give a shout out to all the brilliant companies we partner with around the world for doing what they do to such exacting standards, and with such passion. We're fussy about who we work with and we just love what you do.

Tell us about a micro, small or medium-sized business that you’ve come across and admire…

Happy Fat Tuesday...

As we throw eggs & flour into a bowl this evening and deliberate on how many pancakes is too many, ‘carnival’ or ‘Mardi Gras’ celebrations are filling cities around the world with colour, music and lavishness. Across Ecuador, as a show of gluttony ahead of 40 days of fasting, the ‘carnaval’ festivities have traditionally involved people throwing eggs, flour and water at each other! What fun! In Colombia, Baranquilla’s colourful folkloric celebrations have been proclaimed by UNESCO to be a ‘Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity’…And the Venetian masked carnival celebrations are still on our bucket-list.

So back to Shrove Tuesday….how many is too many?

Let the Spring Festival begin...

We love the fact that February brings with it the Chinese ‘Spring Festival’, known more commonly as their New Year. Culminating with the 'Lantern festival’ on the 15th day, the festivities this February are injecting much-needed colour, vibrancy, and joy to our cities.

Where will you be celebrating the Year of the Pig? Whether you're born under the Pig or just want to eat like one, let the Spring Festivities begin…

Vineyards & vespas in Puglia

This boutique B&B in Puglia is one of our favourite mini-moon boltholes…With just six suites, it’s bijou but bursting with character & style. Perfectly positioned to explore the heel of Italy, we recommend hiring a vespa to visit the region’s vineyards and quiet beaches. May, June and September are our favourite months to visit.

Keen to chat with us about your honeymoon? We’ll be at the Most Curious Bridal Show 1st-3rd March at the Truman Brewery and have a pair of complimentary tickets for one lucky couple…

Ibiza..toddlers & teens too

It still takes us by surprise that Ibiza, the ultimate Spanish party island, works just as well for toddlers and teens as it does raging ravers. If you're not there to make shapes and wear glow sticks, Ibiza offers relaxed dining by the beach, coastal cycling paths, caves to explore, zip lines, paddle-boarding and pristine countryside for horse treks. We think most families would have a blast and we’re thrilled to be marketing a new portfolio of villas on the island - for couples, families and large groups - which we’ll be sharing with you this week.
